En el caso de la combusti\u00f3n completa, todo se quema, produciendo solo agua y di\u00f3xido de carbono. Sin embargo, cuando ocurre una combusti\u00f3n incompleta, no todo se quema. Su grado de atenuaci\u00f3n depende del tama\u00f1o y forma de las part\u00edculas, del \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n, la longitud de onda y el \u00e1ngulo de incidencia de la luz.
