One of the interventions in which its use has grown the most is in the fight against the Vespa Velutina.
In recent years, the appearance of the Asian hornet (Vespa Velutina) in Europe has posed a risk to human health, agriculture, beekeeping and the environment.
This invasive species reached the European continent in 2004 through a seaport in southwestern France.
Since then, some of the countries in which it has been registered are: Spain, Portugal, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
And, why red light?
In the fight to their eradication, actions against nests are usually carried out at night (when all wasps remain inside). Wasps do not see the red color, as it is not in their visual spectrum.
The use of flashlights with red light allows the operator to approach the nest without generating alarm among its inhabitants.
Adalit flashlights can be adapted for this type of use.
